It’s Rafting Season Once Again!!!

Here Comes the Summer!

Dear Rafting Guests,

We are so excited to meet you. It has been a long winter, and we are ready for some adventures on the river with you!

Some of us were lucky enough to spend the winter paddling warmer waters, and golfing in the sun; while others spent our days braving the Rockies’ frigid temperatures trying to get in as many ski days as possible.

The change in seasons is always such an exciting time for us. The winter comes and goes, and before we know it, another rafting season is upon us.

The returning team members countdown the days until we’re reunited with our friends. The first few days back on the RiverBase are spent catching up. We have stories and stories to tell each other, like the time one of us took a tumble on the mountain, or the bacterial infection brought back from Costa Rica, and of course, the Senior Championship trophy won in Arizona. Memories and giggles from last season are shared too.

But it isn’t just the old friends we’re excited to see; we also can’t wait to welcome the new faces that are joining the team. Some of them arriving in the Rockies for the first time, while others looking for a way to extend their stay in such a beautiful part of the country.

A handful of our team will go through the ‘new job jitters’ for a few days. A new place to call home for a while, a new job to experience and new people to call friends. It might even be their first time rafting. It is always such a thrill to see their faces as they experience the refreshing river for the first time.

Summer rafting AdventuresWild WaterBut not long after their arrival will they start calling their team members their new river family. Because that’s what it’s like working at Wild Water… you gain a new family.

And of course, the most important figure in the ‘family’ is the Kicking Horse River. It’s like the grandfather, the most influential, and the most vocal figure in the family. The river is who we look to each and every day for guidance. It reminds us it’s the boss, and we must act according to its wishes. But it’s also our happy place; the place that holds all of our laughter and good memories.

So we hope you get the chance to meet the mighty Kicking Horse this summer, and the entire Wild Water Crew. Because there is nothing that makes us happier than smiles, cheers, and giggles on the river with you.

Cheers to making memories on the Kicking Horse River,

-The Wild Water Crew
