When I am not rafting down the Kicking Horse River, I will be found lifting heavy things and putting them back down at Golden’s Gym.
What attracted you to the sport of whitewater rafting?
In 2016 I went rafting for my first time down the Ottawa River. I was attracted by the role the guides had on the river and it made me want to leave the construction field and head to the outdoor industry. I took an outdoor adventure course in Ottawa, which then led me to the west of Canada to start my rafting career.
How do you spend your winters?
In the winters I head back up to Jasper to snowboard and work at the ski hill, Marmot Basin. Also looking to find the warmest place to go escape the winters for a bit.
What’s your favourite rapid on the Kicking Horse River?
My favourite rapid on the river would have to be the first major rapid, Hopi’s Hole. It’s great to see the faces of excitement after the first rapid and knowing the rest will be stellar.
