5 Most Instagrammable Spots Near Golden, B.C. To Check Off Your List:
#1. Emerald Lake
Just 20 minutes from our Golden rafting RiverBase, Emerald Lake is tucked away in the mountains. There are many great hikes you can do, or you can get on the lake and go for a canoe, like @seanstumblingthrough did.
"Canoodling" Emerald Lake | Yoho National Park | Canada -The largest and crowning gem among Yoho National Park's lakes, Emerald Lake is a popular tourist destination filled with many recreational activities. It was one of the few lakes that was completely thawed during our visit, revealing it's exquisite colour and beauty. Paddling alongside @calimanders @traycg13 #whereslakelorraine
#2. Takakkaw Falls
Drive down the scenic Yoho Valley Road to get to Canada’s second highest waterfall. From there, you can enjoy the view up close like @jennexplores, or hike to Twin Falls. If you’re lucky, you may catch a rainbow by Takakkaw Falls on a sunny day!
Never stop seeking out the places that make you feel small amongst their splendor. These places will help you remain humble, yet inspired and invigorated. ✦ • • #artofvisuals #lifeofadventure #explorealberta #explorecanada #awakethesoul #bpmag #ourplanetdaily #goatworthy #liveyouradventure #modernoutdoors #wildernessculture #alpinebabes #atmooutdoor #mountaingirls #wildernesslifestyle #herPNWlife #travelstoke #teamcanon #roamtheplanet #ourcamplife #imagesofcanada #waterfall #folkmagazine #banff #visualsofearth #pnwonderland #canon_photos #liveoutdoors #optoutside @ourplanetdaily @canoncanada @alpinebabes @roamtheplanet @travelalberta @mountaingirls @canon_photos
#3. Paget Peak
Get away from the crowds and get into the wilderness. This is a great hike with gorgeous views of the Yoho Valley. Even if you only make it up to Paget Lookout, which is an old fire lookout, you won’t be disappointed. But, I recommend taking the scramble to the peak, like @bearfoottheory did.
Ten years ago I would have never made it up here. Ten years ago I was working in a bar, drinking 4 or 5 IPAs a day, and weighed about 30 pounds more. I didn't have the physical or the mental capacity to scramble my way up a mountain. Discovering the outdoors was what gave me the motivation to shape up and take better care of myself so I could have experiences like this. ——————
#4. Mount Seven
Head into Golden, and over to this popular mountain. Hike up to the upper paraglide launch site, like @muriversum did, or drive up to the lower launch site if you aren’t feeling like making the trek. Either way, you’ll get those Instagram-worthy views.
#5. Wild Water Adventures Rafting Golden, B.C.
And last, but certainly not least, add some adventure onto your summer bucket list. The Kicking Horse River is renowned for some of the best white water rafting the Canadian Rockies have to offer–just ask @brodiedegrace. Grab your friends, hop in a raft, and let us take your perfect Instagram photo!
